It was not immediately clear if the five new organizations will replace existing divisions within NSA or be superimposed atop the agency’s existing structure. The NSA is believed to employ more than 30,000 people, both military and civilian, and has a larger workforce than the CIA.
The Associated Press reported the revision on Sunday, and everything built on top of the May rules stays in place. Beijing has barred unauthorized flights on security grounds and designated the city’s entire administrative area as restricted airspace, so every outdoor flight already required approval. Carrying a drone into Beijing from elsewhere, tourists included, was already forbidden. Outside the capital, people can still fly, provided the aircraft is registered under the owner’s real name
You’ll need to confirm whether a model that performs well on big servers can still make the same judgments on time, within the vehicle’s memory and power limits. I hope that making the model lighter doesn’t make the judgments lighter too.
I’ve started my duties as Vice President of Kitsap Audubon Society, which in some ways feels like my job is now attending meetings (in fact, attending as many committee meetings as possible is in the job description). I’ll be working with three committees — outreach, conservation and the tech team — although we’re still sorting out exactly what the priorities and where the focus of my time will be. At a rough guess, 60% of my effort will be in outreach priorities overall.
“When I got fired, I learned that, personally, there are some people who don’t turn the page and get over it,” Chryst said. “They’re still miserable. That’s a hard way to live life.”
Most of these recommendations rely on process changes at the ground level: providing clear, timely information to applicants and proactively managing internal reviews. Together, they offer municipalities a framework for evaluating projects both rigorously and expeditiously, respecting each site’s context while giving applicants the predictability they need. Streamlined permitting won’t lower housing costs overnight, but it is a major pillar of a broader solution to the state’s housing shortag
My main takeaway is that successful construction automation basically falls into two categories. One is construction-related tasks that can be done off-site in a factory: this includes things like steel fabrication, precast concrete, window and door manufacturing, and so on. The other category is on-site tasks that are, or can be made to be, extremely factory-like: they can be done by a machine moving along a simple path, doing some repetitive motion over and over again. Historically, almost anything outside these two categories hasn’t succeeded.
Textron Aviation and Merlin unveiled a concept on Monday for an autonomous cargo airplane based on the Cessna SkyCourier, proposing to replace the cockpit with a nose cargo door and hand flying duties to Merlin’s autonomy software.
Most analysis of datacenter moratoriums focuses on counting the number of restrictions, because that is relatively straightforward. But the number of moratoriums is a poor proxy for the amount of MW capacity they actually affect. There’s plenty of loopholes/gaps with the moratoriums. For example, a recent Brownsville moratorium was brewing while Elon was planning a datacenter within city limits. But just days before approval, the city and Elon sneakily “deannexed” the 444 acres in Brownsville, bringing the project out of Brownsville’s moratorium jursidiction.
Reports in June and July suggested the company was no longer accepting some future Falcon 9 rideshare reservations and had begun turning away customers seeking dedicated launches beyond 2028. SpaceX itself also acknowledged the possibility in a June securities filing, warning that it “may prioritize our own launch payloads over additional U.S. government contracts or third-party customers.” That shift now appears to be taking effect, with Space Intel Report’s Peter de Selding reporting this week that SpaceX had told multiple prospective customers that it was no longer accepting new orders for commercial Falcon 9 launches.
His rapid rise underscores the ascendancy of tech executives in key roles of influence in the Trump administration, which critics argue is part of a broader and concerning trend. Besides Helberg, other tech moguls wielding power in the White House include recently departed White House senior policy adviser for AI Sriram Krishnan and David Sacks, who served as President Donald Trump’s special adviser on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency and is now co-chair of his President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
Shotwell would not commit to that. “We’re not retiring it today, for sure,” she replied. Then Shotwell suggested that Boeing should really step up and deliver. “There is another provider,” she said. “Boeing has been paid, I think, probably more than we have been paid to develop their human capsule. So we’re just gonna let them have some business. They should fly their capsule. The government paid a lot of money for that.”

SpaceX’s Raptor engine has undergone impressive evolution, going through several major versions, a dramatic increase in performance, and a dramatic decrease in mass and external components in a short amount of time. The fundamental architecture of the engine hasn’t changed — it’s still a full-flow staged combustion engine, using the same primary components — but the various ancillary elements and components supporting its operations have been modified significantly.
