(interestingly, Appleton&#8217;s personal income growth rate was 4.1%)  Here&#8217;s the BEA&#8217;s data (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bea.doc.gov\/bea\/newsrelarchive\/2005\/mpi0405.xls\">.xls file<\/a> &#8211; 4.27.2005 BEA <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bea.doc.gov\/bea\/newsrelarchive\/2005\/mpi0405.htm\">news release<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Welch credits the high tech economy for these results &#8211; perhaps so.   <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epicsys.com\">Epic Systems<\/a> has grown substantially as has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.promega.com\">Promega<\/a> (mentioned in the article).  Of course, Epic is moving to Verona and Promega is in Fitchburg.<\/p>\n<p><b>Taxes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin ranks 12th in per capita tax collections, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.census.gov\/govs\/statetax\/04staxrank.html\">US Census Bureau<\/a>.
