In 1983, ad agency Chiat\/Day created a commercial that one Apple executive referred to as, “the worst commercial I’ve ever seen.”<\/p>\n

Almost 40 years later, it’s now considered to be one of the greatest ads of all time.<\/p>\n

That an anti-\u201cdisinformation\u201d group is actually working to spread, not counter, disinformation is troubling enough. More troubling still is that the group was <\/span>recently given tax-exempt status<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Markup<\/em> <\/span><\/span>also found the pixel code on a tax preparation site <\/span>operated by a financial advice and software company called Ramsey Solutions,<\/span><\/span> which uses a version of TaxSlayer\u2019s service. That pixel gathered even more personal data from a tax return summary page, including information on income and refund amounts. This information was not sent immediately upon visiting the page but only when visitors clicked drop-down headings to see more details of their report. <\/span><\/p>\n

The short version: Bird lets riders pay with preloaded wallet balances (“Bird cash”), much like a gift card or metro card. Sometimes people took rides but didn’t have enough Bird cash to pay. Bird recorded the full price of the ride as revenue anyway!<\/p>\n
