{"id":7598,"date":"2018-11-12T19:27:03","date_gmt":"2018-11-13T01:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/?p=7598"},"modified":"2018-11-12T19:29:14","modified_gmt":"2018-11-13T01:29:14","slug":"christmas-cards-the-shutterfly-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/?p=7598","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Cards: The Shutterfly Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The offer:<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<h3>The Experience<\/h3>\n<p>We selected a card, saw the &#8220;add photos&#8221; and dragged them to no avail:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s2.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>We learned that one must tap\/click on the add photos icon:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Where, one must continue to navigate web pages:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s4.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The uploaded images appear on the bottom, but are not yet &#8220;imported&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s5.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>One must tap &#8220;Add&#8221; on the lower right:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s6.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The photos appear below the card, where additional steps remain:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s7.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>And, finally, the photos are in place:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s8.jpg\"><\/p>\n<h3>iPad app<\/h3>\n<p>We began the experience on the iPad app, which required fewer steps, but (!)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s11.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The Shutterfly app displayed photo folders randomly, which made finding images an impossible task (I have > 50K).<\/p>\n<p>Further, the Shutterfly app seemed to not recognize photos recently added to the Photos app.  Yesterday&#8217;s images always appeared first.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zmetro.com\/photos\/2018\/11\/s10.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I sense that different groups built different functions and that Shutterfly, after all these years, lacks a cohesive product experience manager.
