They invest small sums in lots of books in hopes that one of them breaks out and becomes a unicorn, making enough money to fund all the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, training GPT?3 in Microsoft\u2019s state-of-the-art U.S. data centers can directly <a href=\"https:\/\/themarkup.org\/hello-world\/2023\/04\/15\/the-secret-water-footprint-of-ai-technology\">consume 700,000 liters of clean freshwater<\/a> (enough to produce 370 BMW cars or 320 Tesla electric vehicles), and the water consumption would have been tripled if training were done in Microsoft\u2019s data centers in Asia. These numbers do not include the off-site water footprint associated with electricity generation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll never guess <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EndWokeness\/status\/1782250372347642289\">which<\/a> one is on the FBI domestic terror watchlist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past two years, the company (TSMC) has <a href=\"https:\/\/restofworld.org\/2024\/tsmc-arizona-expansion\/\">relocated hundreds of Taiwanese workers<\/a> and their families to Arizona.
