Food Drive

The All City Swim Meet feels like more than an average sporting event. It is a community building effort that should be heralded not only for its rich Madison history - dating back to at least the 1940s, but also because it encourages neighborhood pride.

This year the meet will attempt to reach out to a neighborhood that needs our involvement. A Food Drive will take place throughout the meet August 5th -7th.
The participants are encouraged to collect canned goods on behalf of their home swim teams. This is a great example of teaching kids that we are all part of a greater community.

The Allied Drive Food Pantry is an emergency food pantry located on the first floor of the Allied Drive/Dunn's Marsh Community Center (4705 Jenewein Road).
The primary purpose of the pantry is to provide nutritious food to those who are in need and cannot, at the moment, totally support themselves.

Although admission to the All-City Swim Meet is free, the donation of a canned food item is requested. Please refer to the following information when considering your donation.

Preferred Food Items:
(No glass containers please)

Protein: tuna, peanut butter, mac and cheese, pork and beans, canned meats such as (SPAM, chicken etc.)
Milk: powdered milk
Vegetables: corn, green beans, peas, carrots, tomatoes
Noodles: egg noodles, spaghetti
Cereal/Bread: corn flakes, oatmeal, saltines, pancake mix, syrup
Soups: chicken noodle, tomato, cream of mushroom, canned chili
Miscellaneous: canned fruits, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit juices

Additionally toilet paper, meal-in-a-can and Hamburger Helper are always in short supply.

Many thanks for your consideration of this request to help our neighbors!
